This beautiful couple is expecting their first baby within the next few weeks. i think they’ve gotten a bit of practice having had some sleepless nights from raising their gorgeous puppy Molly. I’m so looking forward to meeting your little one M and K! ….i’ll be waiting to hear the good news

Big, big, BIG news that has me so overjoyed. As of last month, Cherry Cortez Photography has officially moved into our very own storefront Studio! Our studio’s new home is located in Pickering’s Frenchman’s Bay Marina, steps (literally steps!!) from the Pickering beach and boardwalk. We are no longer ‘just east’ of Toronto but now about a short 2 minute drive just east of Toronto. The Cherry Cortez Photography Studio is nestled between restaurants on the marina, spas, dessert cafes, gift shops and other wonderful retailers. I’m so excited about this new adventure…the shooting possibilities are endless with immediate access to the beach, shops, stone sidewalks and waterfront, not to mention we have some yummy studio floors and wonderful natural light pouring into the studio. God has truly blessed me and am so very thankful. Thanks to our wonderful clients who have referred me time and again, my family and friends who have supported me since day one and to my amazing hubby who worked overtime to get this studio looking as amazing as it does in record time…..because of each and every one of you, we’ve been able to take this huge step in the business. I am so in love with this new space and it’s surroundings and i know my clients are going to love it as well .

Just a little bit of housekeeping here. There has been so much going on in the last month i haven’t been able to keep up with this blog. The year is quickly coming to an end and i’m frantically working on holiday orders, fall sessions, lots and lots of newborns and preparing for another Holiday show.

Meet gorgeous Miss A. This is a looooong overdue post but i couldn’t help but NOT blog about this sweetie. She was so alert at her session and gave me tons of expressions. At 13 days old it’s amazing what character this little gal had. I’m sending out her gallery tomorrow so this won’t be much of a sneak.peek but better late than never. Congrats S and A, she’s a beautiful addition to your already gorgeous family.
On a side note, the studio has been UBER busy with lots happening. Limited holiday mini-sessions were released this morning exclusively to newsletter subscribers. I get many emails inquiring about what the session album looks like. This leather bonded slip-in album is included in the Belly and Baby Captured Package or can be ordered a la carte and holds twenty of your favourite 5×7 images from your session(s). It’s perfect for those that want an album but also want the option of removing the prints and putting it into your favourite desktop frame. Of course, you can always upgrade from this album to the Elite Session Album but that album is soooooooo yummy, i’ll have to save that for a post all on it’s own

When i first opened my doors to met this family, i was faced with the mama.to.be, S. I couldn’t believe just how gorgeous this soon-to-be mom of 3 was. Then walked in her two boys, T and L who had faces that looked like they belonged on kids magazines. Then daddy A, walked through, who was just way beyond cool. I really couldn’t believe how each one of them were so stunningly beautiful. Really. Daddy A (who will forever be know as ‘Andrew’ to me) was such a great sport too, letting S and I pose him for some images and letting me call him ‘Andrew’ to my heart’s content.

Remember this gorgeous couple? They welcomed their baby girl into the world a few days ago. She was the youngest babe to come into the studio in quite some time. Little miss E at 4 days old. Such a gorgeous babe with a head full of hair!! Dad had to head out west for a few days so we rushed to get her in….She was born at 7 lbs. 11 ozs — if we waited to have the session when dad returned, i’m sure she would have tipped the scales past 8 pounds in a matter of days. She was such a good little girl and oh sooooo sleepy. At 4 days old, i was just lovin’ all her newborn goodness. Congrats J & J ~ she’s beautiful.
The studio has been quite busy with an abundance of newborns lately. Unfortunately, there are so many newborns and not enough time to share them all…. Sometimes i get asked why their child hasn’t been featured on the blog. While i would love to blog them all i must admit — i must be one of the worst bloggers of all time — that’s me…blog slacker. i promise…if i haven’t posted a sneak-peek of your session….your gallery will be all-the-more worth-the-wait.

Within my schedule, i always reserve a few spots for last-minute newborn inquiries. Lately, i have been getting lots of them and my ‘reserved last minute newborn slots’ have been going rather quickly these days. Many times i have parents call me when they’ve already had their baby or when they are a few weeks away from their due date and unfortunately, sometimes my schedule doesn’t allow me to fit them in. Although i make every effort to see every newborn that i can, sometimes, it just isn’t possible. if you know me and how much i love newborn baby love, i hate to turn any potential newborn client away but sometimes i have to. Not only are the parents disappointed but so am I — i HATE turning newborns away. Please, please, PLEASE….if you know you would like to book a Newborn session with me, call me or email me in advance to avoid disappointment.
