{urban maternity.}

This couple was so fun to shoot.  They’re expecting their first child in 4 weeks and were up for anything when i had mentioned doing their maternity shoot downtown. I love it when a client trusts me enough to let the creative side of me run free.  We met early in the morning and G and A were all game when i asked her to bare her belly in the heart of downtown.  They both laughed at me when i pulled out this scarf from my goody bag but i must say, ‘Doesn’t she look awesome?’  Congrats to you both….i can’t wait to meet your little one :) .  Here are a couple of images to tide you over until i get your gallery up….

 

I love these images of her belly and toes :) .   When i saw her sandals and her pretty toenails i knew i just had to capture it!! Kudos to G for having such pretty toenails so far along in her pregnancy.  I know by 30 weeks, there was NO way i could bend over and reach my toes!!

{2008 CCP Holiday Cards Are Here!!…and New Updated Website!!}

If you haven’t noticed, the website has been updated!  It has been a work in progress for the last month and i guess i should say that it is still ‘a work in progress’.  It has been a painstaking and daunting procedure to say the least but i hated that my images were so small on the screen — so i’ve been kicking myself to get it done.  Now images are sized at full screen …yippee!!  Visit the new Cherry Cortez Photography Website to see the fresh new look :) .  Over the next few weeks I’ll be updating the galleries with new images so check back to see the changes!!

I can’t believe it’s that time of year again!  Fall has started and it’s time to start thinking about the holiday season.

This year i’m so excited to be offering these beautiful cards.  Each card is 5×7 and has a front and a back.  Since the back has plenty of space there’s room to add some personal text.  A set of 24 cards is $75 and $50 for each additional set.  These cards are available to current clients and past clients.  If you are a client who’s had a session previously with me, just email me at info@cherrycortez.com or call me at 647.400.6538 and we can get you started on your Christmas cards.  Don’t forget to place your orders before the deadline – November 8th 2008.

i had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family who is expecting their fourth.  These people are just so near and dear to us and i was absolutely honoured when L asked me to capture her ‘family maternity shots’.  My husband and L’s husband grew up together so i’ve known them since it was just the two of them in their dating stage.  I’ve always had a gut feeling they were going to have a big family….it just suited them.  So…it was no shock to us when they told us that they were expecting!!  Now look at them….on their way to being a family of six.  How amazing is that :) ?? L is due in 3 weeks and i must say — she looks absolutely breathtaking!!  Just wanted to show you some of my favourites…i hope you love them as much as i do :) .  We’ll be waiting for the big news ;)

BTW, i love this first image.  i LOVE how each of the children are doing their own thing.  The boy being the joker, the girl in the middle being all girly and ‘posing’ for me and their littlest one just being cute and trying to stay up….soooo them!

My baby planner clients are so bittersweet for me. I love watching them all grow up and this little girl was no exception.  We did mom’s maternity photos, baby’s newborn, 6 month and now 1 year shots. it’s amazing at how the time flies. i can’t help but feel a little sad when it’s time for their last session :( .

Here’s a little sneak-peek for you ‘C’ and ‘A’.  It was an absolute pleasure and honor to watch your little girl grow up.

This session was done at their home. we did some indoor and outdoor shots, all natural light. I love the fall….not looking forward to those dreaded winter months!

School has started and you can already feel the nights getting cooler.  I love the fall season.  Not too hot and just perfect for outdoor sessions.  Little ‘S’ gave me (and mom) a run for my money (literally!!).  She had me running around her yard playing peak-a-boo with her and mom in the trees…soooo full of energy!!  Their session was held in home and their property was beautiful.  It was a photographer’s dream — beautifully landscaped with gorgeous trees and their home had huge windows with flooding natural light.  ‘I’ ’s parents were in town and they wanted me to capture these rare moments for them with their beautiful 3 month old and 2 year old.  Thanks for having me up at your home — you have a gorgeous family and were all so fun to be around :) .  Here’s a little sneak peek for you of some of my favourites…

{Road Trip.}

We’re back from our 3 week road trip with the kiddies.  For those of  you who don’t know, we decided to take a LONG drive down to sunny Florida to visit mickey and the princesses before school started for the kids.  Now some of you may call us crazy to venture off with 3 kids, aged 5 months, 3 and 6 but let me tell you….they were sooooo good and sooooo well behaved throughout the trip.  No tantrums, no screaming in the car during the 24 hour car ride, no ‘gimmee, gimmee, gimmees’ at the park. Here are some photos from the vacation…i’ve got a ton to edit, but thought i’d take a break and post some of these….
